Swim

In 2011 Tri-Topia was proud to be voted ‘Best open water venue in Europe’ by Triathlon Plus magazine – and with our fantastic location in the heart of the Brenne National Park – also know as the “Mille Etang” or ‘The land of a thousand lakes’ – it’s not difficult to see why.

Fantastic on-site swim facilities…

For Summer 2012, we’ve upgraded our on-site facilities to provide a 25m heated pool, newly installed for the season, enabling us to provide the very best in swim training and coaching. The pool is kept at a constant temperature of 28*c from April – October. Swimming is simply a pleasure just step out of your accommodation and

dive in.

We have underwater swim analysis cameras to capture every detail of your stroke, this is the best way to highlight areas that need work. You and the coach can then piece together a plan to help improve your technique. All swim aids are here for you to use and a coach is always on hand to help. .Jump in for that quick drill session or if you fancy a go at our endless challenge, maybe you’d top the leader board.

A swimmers dream…

For open water swimming choose one of the many lakes and rivers in the area to hone your open water skills. Our closest river is just 5 minutes away with marker buoys at 250m 500m and 750m. There is virtually no current to contend with so swim times can be measured accurately. The water is exceptionally clean which you can tell by the family of otters living in the bank. Water temperature varies with the season so in April a wetsuit (which are available to hire) is the best option with temperature around 18*c as the season progress’ temperatures rise to 23°c.

BBQs and Picnics can be arranged at the rivers and Lakes and we often organise fun open water Triathlons during the training week if a group would like it.
